Mantis Mood

Sometimes, we walk paths knowing the outcome seems set in stone — like the mantis, facing the inevitable, no matter how many 'distractions' we sip along the way. Yet, even in moments where escape feels impossible, we can still pause, breathe, and choose how we meet what's ahead.

Not every fate is ours to keep. 🛤️✨

Some days, I wish I was a teddy bear

Some days, I wish I was a teddy bear - loved just as I am, valued even more as I age, and not a soul cares about my size! 🧸 But since we are not quite made of fluff, maybe it is time to give ourselves a bit of that unconditional teddy bear love and kindness.
You’re worth it.
Always.

When life attacks in bunches...

When life attacks in bunches, even at year's end, it’s a reminder to find moments of pause and play. You’ve given so much this year. Now, make room to receive some peace, too.

ONE Nerve!

When your last nerve gets stepped on, it is a sign that you need a little extra TLC.

Let us not just focus on the nerves people get on but on how we refill our emotional reserves.

Deep breaths, a good laugh, and self-kindness go a long way!

I am now so mad!

“I am now so angry, I can breastfeed a crocodile!” ⠀

#socialworkers also get mad. When you are so mad, even nature’s food chain needs to watch out! 🐊🍼, what do you do to manage your anger?

The Anxiety of "Busy"

🌀 "I’m so busy!" 🌀 It's a phrase we, as social workers, hear and say a lot, often as a badge of honour... or maybe a way to cope with feeling overwhelmed. But did you know the roots of "busy" include meanings like "diligent," "careful," and even "active"? Yet, another meaning hints at anxiety - a feeling many of us know all too well.

What if we shifted our "I am" statements away from just being busy? Imagine affirming: "I am diligent." "I am focused." "I am careful with my time." These words honour our effort without feeding into the overwhelm. 🧘‍♀️⠀

Next time you find yourself saying, "I’m so busy!" - pause, breathe, and reframe. Your energy and care deserve recognition, not anxiety. ✨⠀

List Making Woes

Step 1: Make a list.⠀

Step 2: Lose the list.⠀

Step 3: Ask AI to remember what was on it. 🤷‍♀️📝

The Perfect Guy

An ‘M’ seems perfect on paper, but are we dreaming or designing destiny? 🤔✨
